Um coração em chamas que é lançado como uma bomba de coquetel molotov rumo ao desconhecido. Fala sobre seguir em frente - mesmo com medo - e dessa maneira afirma: VOU. Eu vou!

Um coração em chamas que é lançado como uma bomba de coquetel molotov rumo ao desconhecido. Fala sobre seguir em frente - mesmo com medo - e dessa maneira afirma: VOU. Eu vou!
O cartaz foi sendo feito aos poucos, em pausas longas que acabaram sendo parte do próprio processo. Nasceu do impacto que tive ao ver, anos atrás, uma pintura de Santo Agostinho (Philippe de Champaigne, 1650) segurando um coração em chamas. Guardei aquela imagem por muito tempo, até entender o que ela queria me dizer.
Ao longo de dois anos e meio, outras referências foram se somando: o refrão da canção “Nuvem Cigana” (escrita por Lô Borges e Ronaldo Bastos, interpretada por Milton Nascimento), o desenho das letras VOU, criados por mim, e uns versos que escrevi numa madrugada sem sono — e que finalmente completaram a peça:

Minha ideia inicial era imprimir usando a mesma técnica utilizada em “REVIDE”, mas acabei optando pela impressão fine art por questões técnicas. A versão final tem 30x90cm, e também criei uma variação menor (20x60cm) para ser vendida em meu catálogo comercial.

A heart on fire, thrown like a Molotov cocktail into the unknown. It speaks about moving forward — even in fear — and in doing so, it simply states: VOU. I go.

A heart on fire, thrown like a Molotov cocktail into the unknown. It speaks about moving forward — even in fear — and in doing so, it simply states: VOU. I go.
The piece came together slowly, through long pauses that became part of the process itself. It was born from the impact I felt years ago when I came across a painting of Saint Augustine by Philippe de Champaigne (1650), holding a heart in flames. I saved that image for a long time, knowing that eventually it would become something — I just didn’t know what yet.
Over two and a half years, new layers of meaning gathered around it: the chorus of the song Nuvem Cigana (written by Lô Borges and Ronaldo Bastos, sung by Milton Nascimento), the word VOU drawn with custom lettering I designed, and a few verses I wrote during a sleepless night — verses that finally gave closure to the piece:

My initial plan was to print this using the same technique I used in REVIDE, but due to technical issues I went with a fine art print instead. The final version measures 30x90cm, and I also created a smaller variation (20x60cm) for my commercial catalog.

Depois de algum tempo me deparei com um texto que dizia que a palavra coragem vem do Latim e quer dizer “agir com o coração” - enfrentar seus medos mantendo-se fiel àquilo que lhe é mais essencial. Tudo isso me fez pensar em VOU e como ele, afinal, era mesmo sobre ter coragem.
Depois de algum tempo me deparei com um texto que dizia que a palavra coragem vem do Latim e quer dizer “agir com o coração” - enfrentar seus medos mantendo-se fiel àquilo que lhe é mais essencial. Tudo isso me fez pensar em VOU e como ele, afinal, era mesmo sobre ter coragem.
Foi então que decidi fazer um remix do cartaz, focado nessa ideia central e nos versos de Milton Nascimento, explorando outras possibilidades de impressão e materialidade. Assim nasceu Coragem, um cartaz em formato A3, impresso em risografia de duas cores sobre papel Pólen.

Some time later, I came across a text that said the word courage comes from Latin and means “to act with the heart” — to face your fears while staying true to what’s most essential. That made me think back to VOU, and how it was, deep down, about having courage.

That’s when I decided to create a remix of the poster, centered on this idea and the verses by Milton Nascimento, while exploring new approaches to printing and materiality.
That’s how Coragem was born — an A3 poster printed in two-color risograph on Pólen paper.
